How to Make a Quick and Easy Pouch Liner For a Phone or Tablet
I haven’t been posting much on my crafts recently, as the time that I have been making anything has been quite late at night, so photos just haven’t been much of an option. I have been making myself a crochet bag and pouches for both my 2 in 1 laptop and tablet. Once I had finished crocheting them, to both add some added structure and protection I decided to make a liner out of fabric.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get some stages photos of making the pouches however there is a number of ideas, patterns and tutorials on Pinterest and YouTube if you want to give it a go. So if you want to add a liner to your pouch, here is my quick and easy way to make one.
How to make a Quick and Easy Pouch Liner for a Phone or Tablet
Making the liner will take approx 15 mins with a sewing machine, but can be hand sewn.
Materials:
- Fabric – I started with a fat quarter
- Fabric Marker
- Ruler
- Needle and Thread ( or Sewing Machine)
- Iron
- The device you are making the liner for
Step 1
Lay your fabric right side up on a flat surface and press with an iron.
Step 2
Place the device on the fabric in a position that will allow you to fold the fabric over the top and 1/4 inch from the bottom
Step 3
Fold the fabric over the top so it is a snug fit, and mark where the fabric meet flat on the surface, also mark where the top of the device is, and 1 inch above the top to allow for a hem.
Step 4
Mark up the fabric using the marks made in the previous step, and cut the fabric making sure to including the extra 1 inch for the hem
Step 5
Turn the fabric with pattern facing down, and fold the hem back and press the hem.
Step 6
Turn the fabric with the pattern up, and fold in half. Make a 1/4 inch mark on the bottom and open side as a guide for sewing.
Step 7
Sew along the bottom and open side.
Step 8
Place in the pouch and sew along the top to secure in place
Liner is complete 🙂
