6 Halloween Activities for Half Term
October would have to be one of my favourite months. The days are shorter, there is a chill in the air and the colours outside are amazing. Then at the end of the month is Halloween, and I love Halloween! ( I even got married on the 31st). So here are some Halloween themed activity ideas for this half term.
1. Find that perfect Pumpkin
Pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, warts and a mix of colours can be found pumpkin picking. Take a walk through the fields until you find your perfect one. Farmer Copleys is our go-to for great pumpkins. It makes for a great day out. There is plenty of places to go across the UK to have loads of fun and find that perfect pumpkin.
2. Explore your local woodlands for Halloween Art
Rug up and explore your local woodlands and the colours of autumn. Go stamping in leaves, and search for pinecones and conkers. Look for wildlife, see how pinecones close when wet and open when dry. Collect fallen leaves and twigs to turn into Halloween decorations. Put spooky eyes on conkers, make owls out of Pinecones and make wands out of the twigs.
3. Make some delicious Halloween food and treats.
Have fun in the kitchen with the kids cooking up some delicious food and treats. Use the flesh from your pumpkins to make some soup or make a pumpkin pie. Dunk some apples in toffee or chocolate, or make some witches brew popcorn treats
4. Visit the Brick or Treat at Legoland Discovery Centre
Legoland Discovery Centre is one of our favourite visits, this half term they have made Legoland all spooky. Get a Brick or Treat lego block from the factory, decipher the code in Mini Land to find the password for the monster mash. Make some Halloween themed lego builds and spin the wheel to see if you get a trick or a treat.
5. See the Merwitches in the deep at SeaLife.
The Merwiches are making a spell, find the missing ingredients to make a spell. They will give you a treat if you help them. See the mermaid swimming with the tropical fish. Sit in a ring of jellyfish at the Manchester Sealife.
6. Be on Team Witch or Team Wizard at Eureka Children’s Museum.
Let the kids burn off energy while learning at the museum then the Eureka Witches and Wizards will be putting apprentice magicians through a series of tasks and tests before they can join Team Witch or Team Wizard. While mystical characters from Black Knight Historical will be conjuring up some truly magical classes in the Eureka Theatre.
