Attending BlogOnX – Friends, Sunshine and a Bank Holiday
Great weather, meeting up with friends and #BlogOnX makes a great receipe for a bank holiday weekend. This was my second time attending BlogOn, the first being in September last year, and this time was even better.
Attending BlogOnX
Lesson Learned, Google Maps knows best!
On the trip down I decided to ignore google maps route and soon learned my lesson! I went on the M62. Half way to the next junction I was caught in a tailback as a oxygen tanker had caught fire. My ETA was going up and up and I was hardly moving. People were stretching their legs on the motorway. After some creative navigation I was able to finally get moving again and it took me close to 2 hours to do the 30 miles trip.
It could have been worse, and I could have stayed stuck on the motorway. I will be listening to google maps next time.
After checking into the hotel, showering and a video chat with the kids, I was ready for the BlogOn fun.
#BlogOnX Party Time
Before going to the Paladone BlogOnX Party, I meet up with Fran, Lisa, Jenny and James for drinks and tea. Where we found out that we should have booked a table in advance, and buying bottles of prosecco don’t appear a popular choice at the Premier Inn. I was good though and just diet coke for me.
We ate at Hotel Football, which was also the venue for BlogOn, the food was delicious, although a weekend off Slimming World plan was in order.
The party was on the top floor which was called Heaven and with it being such a lovely warm night, the roof was open. With cocktails, wine, beer and softdrinks available, there was plenty to drink. Popcorn and CandyFloss also proved a hit.
There was games to play to win tickets to choose prizes and just a lovely atmosphere. It was a brilliant night.
#BlogOnX on a Fabulous day.
After getting ready and having cuddles with the youngest attendee of BlogOn, Sara and I checked out of the hotel. With a huge suitcase in toe, walked across to Hotel Football.
There was some really informative sessions throughout the day, on topics such as Pinterest, Photoshop and video editing. These sessions were run by bloggers, for bloggers.
There was some great brands there as well
Co-op had wine, chocolate, cheese and crisps for us to try. Making the place colourful with flowers for us too.
Simon from Snopake was there again with some lovely stationery (who doesn’t love stationary?) I got a stationary pack and also picked up a fountain pen for Dave to try out post his wrist opration – I’ll let you know how he finds it after his Op.
WirePR had loads of toys, including the Fingerlings, fairy gardens and glove bubbles.
Carousel PR were there with lots of games and toys, including Little Tikes, Nom Noms, Zaft Creations and University games. They also had cakes and Pimms
Magic Candy Factory made me my name in candy, such an awesome idea!
Truth were there with Sunsense and QV cream, Sunscreen is so important and was glad to see them there. They also had SilDerm which we have used before on Daves skingraft.
Being able to find out why my kids love SlushPuppie so much was an added bonus, with tasters of new SlushPuppie pouches that are coming out.
Claire had some DIY slime kits and Power Dough from Canal Toys, Hotter shoes had prince Charming posing for photos with you and Varta with there awesome batteries.
Sitting out on the Canal, I got to chat with more fab bloggers such as Faye and Jess.
Everyone was friendly and had a great time, there was a Tomobla and end of day Raffle which I was lucky enough to win on both. All the money raised from these went towards the BlogOn Community Fund.
The Goody Bag.
BlogOn is renowned for it’s brilliant goody bag, packed with goodies for the whole family. This one was even better than the last, my favouorite are the Joby GripTight POV and the SlushPuppie Pouch.
The next one is in September and I’ve already signed up to be notified when the tickets are on sale!
