Merlin Monthly Membership
When our Merlin Annual Passes expired earlier this year, we didn’t renew. Not because we didn’t see the benefit but because of the upfront cost of the passes just after Christmas. Now Merlin has brought back the option of monthly payments in the form of Merlin Monthly Membership, enabling you to spread the cost. Last month we decided to sign up to the membership.
Merlin Monthly Membership – Spreading the cost.
After our passes expired we started to miss the access it gave us. Being close to Legoland Discovery Centre and Sealife Centre in Manchester, we spent so many days out visiting the Trafford centre with the kids. With a number of visits there, as well as visiting other Sealife centres and Alton Towers, according to the savings calculator, we saved over £1000 from the general full-price admission.
It is true, we wouldn’t have visited as many times without the pass, but it was so useful on those wet weekends and school holidays. The saving calculator doesn’t take into account is the discount on food, drinks and items in the gift shops as well as the discount for friends and family to come with us. Using our Share the fun vouchers we could take Tony and Charlotte to Alton Towers with us for £15 each.
The cost of the Monthly Membership
We decided on the Premium option at £34.99 Joining fee and £11.99 per month for 12 months. The Total cost of each pass is £178.87. This gives you access to free parking, no restrictions on when you can visit attractions and a membership pack.
The Standard options costs less at £29.99 Joining fee and £8.99 per month for 12 months. The total cost of each pass is £137.87. This doesn’t include the parking and has some attraction visiting restrictions.
It is a rolling monthly direct debit, after 12 months you can cancel with 30 days notice on both passes.

We aim to visit multiple attractions this year, and you can follow our adventures on the blog or on Instagram. Look out for our stories too.
