What I Got From #Blogonxmas

Last weekend I got to attend my first ever blogging conference. #Blogonxmas was a fantastic experience and I had a absolutely fantastic time. Though it wasn’t until I was driving home that I realised just what it gave me. So here is what I got from #Blogonxmas

#Blogonxmas and what I got from it - Me
Me, I know you don’t see many photos of me. So here I am

Being able to meet up with some of my lovely blogging friends, meeting an adorable little dude (Suzzanne’s little man) and talking to some great brands was fantastic. The goody bag was stuffed full of great stuff but the highlight for me was something that I wasn’t expecting.

My Goodybag !

It gave me a new sense of enthusiasm and drive for my blog.

Working, being a mum and blogging has recently felt like an unmanageable juggling act. Starting a new role at work and the learning curve that comes with that, then spending the short time with the kids in the evening before they go to bed left me mentally drained. So of course my little corner of the internet was left to it’s own devices.

I kept double guessing my content, the fact I covered a range of topics and I don’t have a humourous angle. (because I’m not that funny!). The time I could put to it seemed never in grasp recently, I became a bit disillusioned with it all.

I realised when talking to other bloggers, brands and listening to the speakers that is ok to be varied. My life isn’t a niche, I’m a geek who loves crafts, spending time outdoors, raising my miracle children, being me and giving honest reviews. I originally started raisingmoonbows to provide that glimmer of hope to others going through miscarriage and is a topic I will always cover.

So the biggest thing I took away from the conference was, It’s ok to be me and cover the range of topics I am interested in, because my life isn’t in a little neat box, its varied.

I also have some brilliant ideas, craft items and reviews to share with you in the coming months. I am also excited to be joining up with Kayleigh from Candyfloss & Dreams  with a new weekly feature.

So thanks #blogonxmas for an unexpected boost of inspiration and a sense of  I’ve got this.

  1. Thanks for the update, I wanted to know more about the conference and whether bloggers had enjoyed it. I missed finding out about it until it was too late to get tickets. I’ve now joined the FB Page so am looking out for the next date!
