It is almost December, and those first doors of the advent calendar will be opened and the festive build up will kick up a notch. ( if that is even possible! ). I love the magic of Christmas but after the 25th, the excitement comes to an end. Smart Phone Telescope.

Using your device camera, you can see and take photos as if through a telescope. You could make it into a fun activity by turning a walk into a treasure hunt of things they can find by looking through it. Get them out and about exploring with their smart phone. We had a play with this recently at the Piece Hall and having a 6 year old who is a home body but curious about everything, it made our shopping trip exciting for him. It works just as well on phones or tablets.

This microscope give up to 30x zoom, look at things at closer detail. This little microscope attachment can be purchased at Paladone for £9.99*. Use it when out and about to explore or in your home to see things in finer detail. Using your device camera, you can look or take photos of details they may miss looking at something.
And now the crafty items.
Jumping Clay Mini Gift Set
This clay set can be purchased on amazon for £18.95*. We have one of their stores in our town, so might be worth a look to see if one is close by. Jumping Clay is air drying clay with a difference. You can buy single model kits as well as the sets. Once what they make is cry that can be played with. It is bouncy, and feels foam like so isn’t fragile. We have made many things from it, including bouncy balls. It is non toxic and has a lovely calming scent. You can also pick up an accessory pack for £3.95 and you can make keyrings, magnets and phone charms. We have made Christmas tree decorations with it, as with a 19 month old they wont break.
Out There Creative Candles.
These make your own candles can be purchased at The Entertainer currently at £5.00*, which is half price. This would make a great stocking filler gift. With different colours, and three holders they can make candles to their liking. We loved making the rainbow coloured candles as J is fascinated with anything rainbow at the moment so this is what he wanted to make. What isn’t more personal than letting them make their own teddy, with this kit you can make a little family of Teddy Bears. J has made his own little friend Norman and he is very special to him.
